Petal Bicycle, Yes Please

Petal Bicycle, Yes Please by macadamia featuring canvas shoes

We’re in Martha’s Vineyard! We’re staying close to a town called Edgartown (redundant) at a bed & breakfast we found through Airbnb . Yesterday we rented bicycles and took a ferry to Chappaquiddick Island (‘Chappy’ Island). We then biked several miles to a beach with a sandbar. Some locals told us that Chappaquiddick used to be connected to Martha’s Vineyard (‘the mainland’) by a sandbar very close to where we were, but the sandbar was covered in a storm two years ago.

A section of the beach was closed off for the birds, and you could see crab carcasses and bird crap strewn about. Bleh.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach and biking back to Edgartown. The weather was perfect for cycling.

For dinner we went to a place called the Seafood Shanty for, obviously, sea food. I had a delicious plate of fried shrimp and coleslaw, yum.

I never want to leave Martha’s Vineyard. It’s so beautiful. I’m made for beach life. 🙂

I’m currently at DCA (Washington) airport. I completely forgot to mention this the other day, but we’re heading to Boston to visit an obscure ant/aunt. The flight is practically free, thanks to accumulated milage points, but for that it’s also a roundabout journey. With 4 hours (!) in Washington. I’m passing my time by reading Pride and Prejudice (an education) and using up all of my 3G (wasteful, bad M).

Here’s a pic, solid proof.

According to

a·the·ism [ey-thee-iz-uhm]

1.the doctrine or belief that there is no god.
2.disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.
A quote that sums it up perfectly:

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
~ Stephen Roberts

And another:

Which is it, is man one of God’s blunders or is God one of man’s?
~ Nietzsche

I’ll leave it at that. You can form your own opinions.
